Curious about curved piecing but not sure where to start? This workshop is the perfect introduction! Learn techniques that make sewing curves easier, faster, and more accurate—no pins, no stress, just beautiful results. As you create the playful Bouncing By quilt, we'll also explore how contrast, color, and fabric placement can completely transform the design. You'll leave with the confidence to tackle curves and the skills to make this versatile quilt uniquely your own.

Making a collage garment is pure fun; you use either a sweatshirt base or use a foundation style base. You will choose solids and small prints that will blend with the theme fabric - think Asian, flowers, animals, fish etc.. You do not wash the fabric prior to the collage process – just before the binding is to be added, you will wash and dry the garment to get the texture of the raw edge stitching,

Student supply list:
1. Purchase a sweatshirt that is two (2) sizes larger than you wear. DO NOT PREWASH.
2. Fabric: a fabric that has animals, a flower of different sizes, Asian birds, fish, etc., something you can cut apart. Choose other fabrics that pick up color from the main fabric, some solid and small prints that do not overpower the main design. Thread to match the fabric and the color of the sweatshirt. If you prefer to line your jacket, purchase coordinating fabric and thread. DO NOT PREWASH YOUR FABRIC.
3. Sewing machine with free motion foot. General sewing supplies, including a small pair of scissors for cutting sections of the fabric apart. Make sure you have extra needles for your machine.

Design a high-impact improv quilt! Incorporating dramatic negative space with improv-pieced blocks can generate striking quilts with plenty of visual interest. Embark on your own design journey as Michelle guides you along the process every step of the way.
Michelle will show you how to achieve these great designs with just paper, pencil, and a scientific calculator you can use on any smartphone! You will leave this class with a blueprint and plan of attack for your very own wedge improv quilt, as well as the skills necessary to plan any number of quilts based on a modified wedge layout. This is a no sew workshop for INTERMEDIATE quilters.

Color Theory for Quilters (aka How do I pick fabric for my quilt?) Ever wonder why some quilts sing while others fall flat? While there are multiple factors at play, color choice and placement have a huge effect on the success of your design. In this class, learn the basic color theory terminology, then dive into several ways to use this new knowledge to help you pick fabrics for your next favorite quilt. You will explore these lessons as you create several small raw-edge appliqué compositions which you can finish as mug rugs at home.
Kit/handout Fee: $10 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom). Kit includes: • 10 fat sixteenths of a variety of colors • class handout with design template • batting • cardstock (for postcard finish option)
Student supply list: • pencil & eraser • colored pencils • fabric scissors • paper scissors • glue stick (Elmer's or other washable glue) • ¼ yd or FQ of your favorite graphic print (focus more on a fabric that has a color story that excites you)

Learn to make a simple pattern for a fabric vessel, cut the sides from stiff stabilizer, and crazy quilt the sides. Then we'll have fun with decorative stitching, lots of embellishments (learn to make fabric and ribbon flowers, beaded fringe, and many others), and tons of different ideas to decorate, then easily construct your one-of-a-kind sculptural art. Pure fun!!!
Kit/handout Fee: $45 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom). Kit includes: 1. 3/4yard of a heavyweight fusible stabilizer. 2. Bunch of coordinated fabric scraps (about 4 fat quarters or large scraps) 3. ½ yard fabric for the inside of the vessel 4. Fancy fabrics like velvet, satin, etc. 5. Embellishments – beads, yarn, cords, trims, lace, fringe, tassels, old jewelry, buttons, charms, Angelina, ribbons, glitter glue, fake flowers, silk flowers or leaves, shells, seeds, foil, you can also bring some you have and be prepared to share, and borrow from others. 6. Sewing machine, preferably with some decorative stitches (Optional – but a good time to start using all those fancy stitches you have never used before). 7.
