Spiral Patchwork is the innovative piecing method developed by Linda McGehee. Begin with a jelly roll to eliminate cutting or cut your own strips at various widths. Use the serger for faster piecing! Use two fabrics or as many as thirty to stitch the sets. Sew the sets into a tube or spiral. When the spiral is opened, the patchwork design remarkably repeats with no fabric waste. Linda promises, "What looks so involved is actually quite simple." You can match the strips for one look or mismatch for an entirely different look. The selection of fabric color, width of strips, and piecing process that makes the difference. Add a few rows of corded piping for additional detail.
The spiral patchwork can go into a quilt, a wall-hanging, pillow, garment, handbag or wherever you choose. "Bring your sense of adventure to class. It's one of those techniques where you really can't go wrong!"
