Oh What a Tangled Web We Weave When We Stitch Room N7 Linda McGehee Tue. June 3, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Level: All Levels Class Type: Hands-on Category: Domestic Machine Sewing Machine(s): Not required (BERNINA Sewing Machines are being sponsored by Going Batty!)
New threads require understanding for easy sewing. Proper needle, feet and tension make sewing with decorative threads a breeze. Some threads are too large for the needle, so how do you work with them? These threads may be better used in a foot. Should you stitch from the right side of the fabric or the wrong side? Unleash the possibilities of thread as you discover which to use in the sewing machine needle and which to use with a foot. You can relax when you know the proper techniques. Sew crooked or straight. It's an adventure the easy way. Create a masterpiece of thread embellishment to showcase your work that can later become a wall hanging, portion of a garment or handbag.
Kit/handout Fee: $35 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom). Kit includes: Fabric, fusible fleece, top stitching needle, bobbin thread, variegated thread for the needle (several types) and decorative threads, yarn and ribbon for couching, instructions and more.
Student supply list: Sewing basics (pins, clips, thread clips, marking pencil, fabric scraps for testing stitches) Any decorative threads you may want to experiment with Scissors Anything that makes your sewing easier
