Off the Rail Table Runner Room N7 Linda McGehee Sat. June 7, 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Level: All Levels Class Type: Hands-on Category: Domestic Machine Sewing Machine(s): Not required (BERNINA Sewing Machines are being sponsored by Going Batty!)
A strip piecing take-off from the Rail Fence, this adorable table runner is a seasonal favorite. Choose fabrics for a special holiday or to match your special dishes and table setting. Learn the trick of using strips of fabric for construction rather than cutting little pieces of fabric. Learn new techniques for block placement, binding and quilting by machine. You'll stitch the table runner quickly and be ready to finish the borders, quilting and binding. This design could easily be a pillow, placemats or wall hanging. It's your choice! Finished Runner is 21" x 64".
Kit/handout Fee: $12 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom). Kit includes: Pattern and more
Student supply list: Sewing basics (pins, clips, thread clips, marking pencil, fabric scraps for testing stitches) Thread to match Thread for quilting Scissors Rotary Cutter with a New Blade Rotary Ruler (at least 14" long) Anything that makes your sewing easier
Rather than making kits, I've decided to allow the students to choose the fabric for their table runner. 1/2 yd of 4 fabrics 2 yd for backing Could include additional 1/8 yd of companion fabrics for rail piecing
