In this workshop, you will learn:
- A much-simplified Stack and Whack or One Block Wonder technique
- About layout, composition, and color placement
- Cutting and piecing techniques that are fast and easy
- How to minimize bulk at the intersection of multiple seams
- BONUS: Dora's No Baste technique for quilting on a domestic sewing machine.
Kit Fee: $10 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom). Each student must have their own pattern. A FREE addition to the pattern will be provided in class.
Kit includes: Orange Dot Quilts pattern, One Only. Student supply list: Sewing machine, extra needles, thread, bobbins, scissors 1 2/3 yards of one fabric, preferably with a large print, a design repeat of 12" along the selvage, some negative space, and a reduced number of colors (around 5 is ideal). Large cutting mat and ruler Rotary cutter A large array of fabric kits (fabric + Only One pattern) will be available for purchase in class. Buying a kit is not mandatory.
* SEWING MACHINES ARE NOT PROVIDED IN THIS CLASS. Bring your own machine in good working order, pedal and cord.
Sewing Machine and Supply storage: For your convenience, we have available, free of charge temporary and overnight storage at the class registration desk located at Nevada Office 1, across the hall from classroom N5 on the lower level of the hotel.
