Learn to create a gallery-ready landscape art quilt. Our landscape is so beautiful and inspiring. Use one of my patterns (choice of Lake Tahoe, Golden Hills, Golden Gate Bridge, Coastal Cliffs, Yosemite Falls, and Monterey Bay). You will learn many techniques: fused applique, free-motion machine quilting, embellishing with Angelina fiber and textile foil, bobbin drawing, how to make shrubs or foliage using water-soluble stabilizer, and how to mount your quilt on stretched canvas for a professional gallery look.
Kit/handout Fee: Pattern $10 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom). Kit includes: Landscape pattern of your choice.
Student supply list: Fabric pieces (fat quarters or larger), some prints that remind you of rocks, grass, water, sky, etc., preferably batiks and/or hand-dyed. Hand-dyed fabric will be for sale during the workshop. 2 yds of fusible web (with paper backing) such as Wonder Under (Pellon 805) or Steam-a-Seam. 1/2 yard of batting and 1/2 yard of backing fabric. Sewing supplies including scissors, pins, machine embroidery threads, Teflon pressing sheet, rotary cutter, and board. You can view my work on my website http://www.marjankluepfel.com
