Learn to design and create a landscape art quilt. Our landscape is so beautiful and inspiring. Bring a photo of your favorite landscape, and you will learn how to translate this photograph into a fabric wall hanging. I will discuss the many techniques I use (fused applique, free-motion quilting, bobbin drawing, and how to mount your quilt on stretched canvas for a professional gallery look), but the emphasis of this class is on design.

Student supply list: Landscape photo, drafting paper (suggested size: 18"x 24"), pencil, and sharpie. Fabric pieces (fat quarters or larger), some prints that remind you of rocks, grass, water, sky, etc., preferably batiks and/or hand-dyed. Hand-dyed fabric will be for sale during the workshop. 2 yds of fusible web (with paper backing) such as Wonder Under (Pellon 805) or Steam-a-Seam. Teflon pressing sheet, rotary cutter, and board.
