Fabulous Flowers - Fast, Fun, Fused

Learn my easy techniques for producing floral wall quilts. In this 4-hour class, you will use an original flower drawing (20" x 24") provided by the instructor ($10 fee; Seven flowers to choose from: Poppy, Rose, Sunflower, Daylily, Calla, Iris, Daffodils, and Bird of Paradise). We'll translate this into a fabric collage using contemporary methods and innovative art techniques, such as free-motion machine embroidery, thread painting, embellishing with Angelina fiber and beads, couching, and bobbin drawing. You will fuse your quilt top in class, and I will demonstrate and discuss my techniques, so you can finish the quilt at your leisure at home. See my flower quilts at http://www.marjankluepfel.com
Kit/handout Fee: Pattern $10 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom).
Kit includes: Flower pattern of your choice.
Student supply list: Fabric pieces (fat quarter size or larger) in the colors of your chosen flower. You will need one yard of background fabric. Hand-dyed fabric will be for sale during the workshop. 2 yards of fusible web with paper backing, such as Wonder Under or Steam-A-Seam. Paper & pencil, Sharpie, scissors, and a Teflon pressing sheet.
