Collage patchwork art piece: layering fabrics, appliqué shapes, embroidery, lace, buttons, and other embellishments that add depth and personality. The composition usually tells a story or captures a feeling through its imagery-whether it's houses, flowers, animals, or abstract forms-and the overall effect is joyful, whimsical, and unique. Patchwork collage celebrates both creativity and resourcefulness, showing how simple scraps and stitches can come together to create meaningful, one-of-a-kind art.
Kit/handout Fee: $23 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom).
Kit includes: An array of scrap fabrics, embellishments, trims, buttons/handout will include full instructions to create patchwork folk art.
Student supply list:
Elmer's washable glue stick
Fabric scraps- an array of different fabric motifs (birds, butterflies, cats, dogs, flowers), buttons, trims, and lace
-2/3 pages of cardstock
-1/2 magazines (used to cut out words)
-fabric scissors (small and appliqué)
-embroidery thread (assortment of colors)
-embroidery needle
-1 sheet of fusible webbing (your choice: heat and bond or misty fuse)
-small paper bag (used to dispose scraps/threads)
-cutting mat
-rotary cutter
