Abbigail was designed to look great using a large variety of fabric genres from historical to modern. Abbigail transitions an original block packed with numerous techniques into a bright and beautiful quilt. There is a contrasting chain running through the blocks and setting that creates a lot of visual movement. Many opportunities to improve and expand your piecing skills abound, including square in a square, fast nine patch, quick corners, diagonal setting, and so much more.

Learn the basics of quilting. You will learn 10 plus free motion quilting designs. These are designs that you can use on customer quilts, and for your own projects. Fast, easy, quilting that looks great every time.

Student supply list: Sketchpad and pen, snips.

This class is a hands-on, stand-up longarm class. Two students per machine head. The skills taught in this class can be used on any longarm where the machine moves attached to a stationary frame.

Copy Cat Sewing Workshop - WW-4

Learn a series of new techniques which enable you to sew clothes just like the ones you already own and love. In this longer-form interactive class, you'll discuss favorite garments of fellow students (maybe yours!), identify the reasons they're so well liked, then decide what to copy and how to do it. Explore Kathy's tried-and-true steps for copying sleeves, darts, seams, and gathers, learn to identify grain line, and more, as you discover how to create a whole new wardrobe -- inspired by your favorite looks and clothes. Learn to add facings, seam allowances, hemlines, smooth curves and more. You'll learn about choosing the right fabrics, and how to correctly add details like ruffles, pleats, and pockets to make a garment more interesting and more "you".

Kit/handout Fee: $25 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom)
Kit includes: Tutorial, Drafting pen, and Seam Allowance Ruler.

Student supply list: A new box of Waxed paper, Cut Right Brand, permanent felt marking pens, paper scissors, Magic Transparent tape (green label) pins, measuring tape. AND: a pair of jeans, slacks or skirt with slash side pockets and a garment with details you want to copy. You can come to class without garments, but Kathy says you get the biggest bang for your buck when you bring what you want to copy! She will review the collection of garments and pick from those to demonstrate her waxed paper techniques for copying ready to wear.



Do Dads & What Knots - WW-14

This is a great introduction to wire class. Wrap some crystals and pearls. Make some do-dads and have some fun! Hammer and create is the theme in the classroom. You'll also learn how to use your tools properly to conquer the shape you are trying to make! Walk out with a great bracelet or a one of a kind necklace. The design will be yours!

Kit/handout Fee: $30 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom)
Kit includes: Various sizes of Swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls, two sizes of wire, jump rings, enough U.S. made chain to make an 8" bracelet, clasp & more! There will be color choices!

Student supply list: If you have any round chain and flat nose pliers bring them. No worries if you don't! Task light if needed!

Fabulous Fabric & Bling Ornaments - WW-1

Join Cindy for a fun, no stress class making these fun and very addictive ornaments. We will be using the wonderful medallion panels designed by Paula Nadelstern.

Kit includes: Students may pick one fabric from a variety of different panels, Styrofoam ball, box of pins, seed beads and sequins. Extra embellishments will be available for purchase in class. Not all panels pictures are still available.

Student supply list: Fabric scissors and small sharp scissors to cut into small areas.



Mod Journey - WW-5

This is a fantastic version of the traditional drunkard's path quilt BUT it doesn't use templates to create the shapes. Instead, the QCR Mini Ruler makes cutting the curved shapes fast and easy. The no stress, no fuss curved piecing technique will make sewing curves seem like a day at the spa!

Northern Lights - WW-6

Don't let the looks of this quilt intimidate you. It is s simple 8-point Star block with no "y" seams. Learn how to use symmetrical fabrics to create a quilt that looks difficult. This class is based on the quilts in Toby's book Kaleidostars. Learn how to use mirrors to find hidden designs in your fabrics, how to get a consistent 1/4" seam allowance, and how to cut out perfect repeats every time.

Kit/handout Fee: $25 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom)
Kit includes: Acrylic templates, pattern, seam guide, handouts.

Pattern Alteration "Boot Camp" - WW-15

No more discarding newly made clothes because of poor fit! Learning the elements of fit that will enable you to become a better sewer and fitter are essential. Learn from a master "sergeant" the elements of pattern alteration including how to choose the right size, necessary amounts of ease, about the three different methods of alteration, how to combine them, and all the principles and guidelines for success. Then have hand-on experiences using half-scale practice patterns to execute alterations for some commonly needed changes in the bust, back, abdomen, buttocks and arms! All of these exercises will enable you to become a "Sew Successful Seamstress!"

Kit includes: Ring binder, page protectors, instruction sheets, and all half scale practice patterns to be used.

Quilting Block with Punchneedle Embellishment - WW-10

Punchneedle embellishment in quilting incorporates many unique features. This quilt block pattern has punchwork stitched on wool fabric using two punchneedle sizes, combined thread colors, reverse punch, and varied loop lengths. Students will complete the punchwork in class but will need to complete the block at home.

Kit includes: Wool fabric; Americana fabrics; embroidery threads; small red and blue buttons; medium star button; printed instructions and transfer design.

Student supply list: Fabric scissors; embroidery scissors (4 inch); reading glasses if needed.

The Fundamentals of Free Motion Quilting - WW-12

This class will take the beginning machine quilter to a new level! Students will gain confidence in free motion quilting and begin learning how to use rulers for straight lines. Gina will introduce students to a wide variety of exercises which will train them to successfully execute many different designs while relaxing and having fun! Also discussed in class will be: machine set up, trouble shooting, tension, threads, and tools of the trade.
