Upcycled Denim Bag Grand Ballroom 6 Linda McGehee Thu. June 9, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Level: All Levels Class Type: Hands-on Category: Domestic Machine Sewing Machine(s): Sewing Machine required
Having worn jeans for many years and made bags for many years, too, it's time to recycle into a brand-new pattern. Using a template from Winner Designs, keeps the design simple. Using the pockets from the jeans as pockets on the bag saves time. The zipper closure technique is new and different from previous designs. Make a truly one-of-a-kind memory bag while recycling from the closet! Kit/handout Fee: $25 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom). Kit includes: Pattern, and zippers for the closure & pockets and more.
Student supply list: Basic sewing supplies - all-purpose thread, jeans or quilting thread for threadwork, scissors, thread clips, fabric marker, pins, ruler, rotary cutter, mat, anything that makes your sewing easier. 2 pairs of jeans (could use 1 pair of large size, but 2 pairs offer color variety) 1 yd. fabric for lining and inside pockets, 1 yd fusible fleece or batting.
SEWING MACHINES ARE NOT PROVIDED. Bring your own sewing machine in good working order, pedal and cord.
