Come join the fun of creating a one-of-a-kind handbag using some of Linda's favorite methods. This techniques class utilizes many features on your machine while creating a fun, useful project. Use the Messenger Pattern, a quick, easy bag, as a palette for thread embellishment with a variety of decorative stitches and couching. With a few basic techniques, a variety of decorative thread weights, you'll marvel at the possibilities to play on your sewing machine. Learn to use more of the stitches and buttons on your machine. Insert zippers the quick and easy way. Walk out of class with a completed project, a 3-pocket bag--2 zipper pockets and one open pocket sewn completely by machine!
Kit/handout Fee: $35 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom)
Kit includes: Precut fabric, lining, batting, webbing for the strap, 24-inch zipper plus extra pull, decorative threads for couching, variegated thread for the needle, top-stitching needle, fusing medium, swivel snap hook, pattern and couching instructions.
Student supply list: Sewing machine in good working order, basic sewing supplies (scissors, pins, marking tools), Dark all-purpose thread (black or navy), Size 90/14 Universal or Jeans needle. Sewing Machine Feet--Basic Foot, Edge Joining, Edge Stitching or Stitch in the Ditch Foot, Couching or Braiding Foot, Open Toe Appliqué Foot, Multi-hole Foot (optional)
SEWING MACHINES ARE NOT PROVIDED. Bring your own machine in good working order, pedal and cord.
