What do all quilters have, regardless of their particular passion? Scraps, of course! This workshop is technique-packed and the most fun you can have with scraps. You can use any combination of colors and eventual finished size. You'll learn tricks and tips, and learn a technique or two you didn't know. All sewing levels will enjoy this workshop!

Student supply list: Sewing machine, in good working order, extension cord.
Neutral thread, grey is good
Typical Sewing kit: scissors, seam ripper, pins, etc.
Cutting mat, at least 12" by 18"
Sharp rotary cutter and ruler (best size-2/1/2" by 12" at least)
Paper and pencil for planning purposes
Extra light, if desired
Fabric (see note below)
Fabric is, of course, the most important element of this project. This is the chance for you to use up some of the scraps you have been saving. Look especially for focal fabrics that have "pictures" or interesting images that you can feature. Almost all fabric is workable: stripes, polka-dots, prints, solids, batiks, and even UFO blocks. You should think ahead somewhat as to which colors you want to focus on and bring fabric in those colors. A rainbow effect can be made using all the colors of the color spectrum, which makes the best blending, but any combination is possible. Distinct colors are OK too, and make a more striped effect. Full yardage is not necessary, and smaller pieces are fine. When in doubt, bring it, and we will have a share table, which makes it more fun.

Sewing Machine and Supply storage: For your convenience, we have available, free of charge temporary and overnight storage at the class registration desk located at Nevada Office 1, across the hall from classroom N5 on the lower level of the hotel.
