Learn from the best! Join Gina to learn how to machine quilt using Gina's quilting rulers. Gina designed her machine quilting rulers for the novice to the expert to achieve perfect quilt pattern stitching. Discover how to free-motion quilt using a variety of ruler templates. You will come away with fundamental techniques that will lead to successful quilting with rulers. This class will give you a firm introduction to the world of ruler work, and you can use these techniques again and again! You'll learn a wide variety of designs in this creative and stress-free class!
Kit/handout Fee: $40 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom).
Kit includes: 2- Machine Quilting rulers, 1 stencil, gripping aids, and tracing tools.
Student supply list:
- Domestic sewing machine
- Expanded machine base (optional)
- Sewing machine manual
- Free motion ruler foot such as: Westalee, BERNINA 96, etc.
- Gloves- can be free motion quilting gloves or simply latex gloves for gripping fabric
- Erasable marking implement (visible to you on the fabrics you will be using)
- Pencil for note taking
- Sketchpad
- 10- 12" x 12" fabric/batting sandwiches using dark-colored, solid fabric with cotton batting
- Light colored thread
- Thread snippers
Optional: Pad to sit on for comfort Extra lighting Glasses for close-up work Please ensure that your sewing machine is in good working order, has been serviced, and has all of its parts prior to class. This allows everybody to enjoy a positive learning experience without machine frustrations.
* SEWING MACHINES ARE NOT PROVIDED IN THIS CLASS. Bring your own machine in good working order, pedal and cord.
Sewing Machine and Supply storage: For your convenience, we have available, free of charge temporary and overnight storage at the class registration desk located at Nevada Office 1, across the hall from classroom N5 on the lower level of the hotel.
