In this workshop, students learn how to choose fabrics for each petal or leaf, and shade with color pencils or ink if needed, and fuse together to make your quilt top. Quilting will be discussed, but not done in class.
Kit/handout Fee: $20 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom).
Kit includes: A full size pattern with instructions, and a fat quarter (or 2 fat eights) of a hand dyed cotton fabric in pinks or peach colors, as well as a yard of Misty Fuse adhesive. It does not include all of the fabric required for this project, be sure to read the supply list.
Student supply list: Fabric: Background--a fat quarter of a blue color for water, can be a print, batik or hand dye. Scraps to fat eights of yellow to orange for the flower center, and greens for the leaves and stems. I recommend batik fabrics which fray less.
Pencil with eraser, scissors for fabric and paper, freezer paper (1 yard) and parchment paper (1 yard), a Slice ( TM) ceramic bladed craft knife.
