Crossbody Bag with Threadwork & Raw Edge Applique Room N2 Linda McGehee Thu. June 15, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Level: All Levels Class Type: Hands-on Category: Domestic Machine Sewing Machine(s): Sewing Machine required
Using double-faced quilted fabric, create a Crossbody Style Messenger Bag. It's the perfect carryall for today's everyday bag. The long strap crosses the body from shoulder to hip for security. There are 3 pockets--2 with zipper closure. Learn how to make 2 zippers from one. It's so easy to "fix" a zipper. For embellishment combine threadwork with raw edge appliqué. Walk out of class with a finished bag. Great bag for kindle or iPad, too. Fat Quarter friendly. Kit/handout Fee: $35 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom). Kit includes: Fabric, batting, decorative threads for couching, variegated thread for the needle, top stitching needle, fused appliqué fabric, nylon coil zipper from Metals Collection, extra pull, webbing, swivel hook and pattern.
Student supply list: Scissors, pins, black all-purpose thread, iron with ironing pad (may share), rotary cutter with ruler & mat (may share), sewing machine in working order (don't forget the cord & foot pedal), anything that makes your sewing easier. Feet--all-purpose foot, edge joining or stitch-in-the-ditch foot, braiding or couching foot, decorative stitching, or appliqué foot.
* SEWING MACHINES ARE NOT PROVIDED IN THIS CLASS. Bring your own machine in good working order, pedal and cord.
Sewing Machine and Supply storage: For your convenience, we have available, free of charge temporary and overnight storage at the class registration desk located at Nevada Office 1, across the hall from classroom N5 on the lower level of the hotel.
