We will use specially designed templates to learn border and sashing designs. We will focus on dividing our borders and sashings into manageable sized sections. The borders can be done in multiple sizes and will look great on your next quilt. We will cover feathers, clam shells, swags, swirls, curls, pebbles, leaves and more.
Techniques are a huge part of this class and you will be able to use them over and over regardless of what brand tools you use.
Kit/handout Fee: $20 (Paid to the teacher in the classroom)
Kit includes: Batting, Fabric & Handout.
Student supply list: Thread 40 weight poly, basic sewing tools, white marking pencil, straight line ruler 12", have good working knowledge of your sewing machine and its settings, how to drop the feed dogs, extension table if you have one and grip dots. Students will be required to have Farrells mini ruler foot and our border template kit (available in class for $90 and includes the foot and 6 templates). If you already own the foot or some of the templates please bring them to class.
SEWING MACHINES ARE NOT PROVIDED. Bring your own machine in good working order, pedal and cord.
Package & Sewing machine storage is available temporarily and overnight, free of charge.
